Automobilia Expert at Catawiki - Grow in Auctions in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a specialist "expert" role — a relatively rare category in the remote job market. Catawiki's model relies on in-house domain experts to curate and validate auction lots, meaning your niche knowledge of Automobilia and car parts is the core value proposition, not generalist skills. This protects your position from commoditization.
Skills developed:
- Auction strategy and reserve pricing optimization — directly transferable to Christie's, Sotheby's, RM Sotheby's, or independent auction houses
- E-commerce category management at scale (100,000+ listings/week)
- Remote stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration in a 800+ person company
- Data-driven performance analysis (sell-through rates, cash flow metrics)
Compensation: No salary is disclosed, which is a yellow flag. For a specialist expert role at a European scale-up, market rates typically range €35,000–55,000 annually depending on country and experience level. Push for clarity on this in the interview.
Culture signals: Catawiki's flat structure and 60+ nationality team suggest a genuinely international, open culture. The emphasis on "taking ownership" and "driving impact" signals an entrepreneurial environment where proactive contributors thrive. The L&D programs and mentorship indicate investment in employee growth.
Green flags: Fully remote, established scale-up (not early-stage risk), diverse team, clear values. Watch for: No disclosed salary, limited career ladder visibility for a hyper-specialist role — ask about progression paths during interviews.
