Career & Market Insight
Career Trajectory: This Account Partner role sits at the intersection of enterprise SaaS sales and life sciences — a highly specialized and lucrative niche. Mastering this space opens doors to Senior Account Executive, Regional Sales Director, or VP-level roles at Veeva or peers like IQVIA, Medidata, or Oracle Health Sciences.
Compensation Context: No salary is listed, but Account Partner roles at Veeva in Europe typically range from £80,000–£130,000 base with OTE often 1.5–2x base, based on market data for comparable SaaS sales roles in life sciences. This is competitive for the UK market and strong for most of continental Europe.
Skills You'll Develop:
- Executive-level relationship management and C-suite selling
- SaaS renewal, expansion, and upsell strategy (high-demand skills)
- Community building and thought leadership in biotech/R&D
- Deep domain expertise in life sciences R&D software — a rare and valuable specialization
Company Signals: Veeva's $3B+ revenue, PBC status, and consistent growth suggest a stable, mission-aligned environment — not a risk-heavy early startup. The Veeva Basics product is described as a market-first with no direct competitor, meaning early tenure here offers a strong first-mover narrative for your resume.
Green Flags: Transparent hiring process, stated Work Anywhere policy, clear values. Watch for: The role has startup-like expectations ("drawn to the reality of a start-up business") within a large company — ideal for self-starters, potentially draining for those seeking structured support.
Veeva Systems is a mission-driven organization and pioneer in industry cloud, helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster. As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $3B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead.
