Career & Market Insight

Growth Stage & Career Upside: Fleetio just closed a $450M Series D in early 2025 — this is a company with serious momentum, not an early-stage gamble. Joining a Growth Engineering team at this stage means you'll work on high-visibility problems that directly influence revenue metrics, making your contributions measurable and resume-worthy.

Skills Development: This role builds a rare and in-demand combination: full-stack engineering (React/TypeScript + Rails/PostgreSQL) plus product growth expertise (A/B testing, experimentation, analytics tools like Amplitude/Mixpanel). Growth Engineers are increasingly sought after by SaaS and consumer tech companies, and this blend commands premium compensation.

Compensation Reality Check: No salary is posted, which is a mild yellow flag for transparency. For a 3+ year SWE at a Series D SaaS company in the US, market rates typically run $130K–$170K base. Candidates in Canada or Mexico may see localized pay bands. The 4% 401(k) match and stock options (incentive stock options, not RSUs) add upside tied to a potential exit.

Work-Life Balance Signals: 4 weeks PTO (growing at year two), 14 holidays, generous parental leave, and a remote-first culture since 2012 are strong green flags. The wellbeing and professional development funds suggest the company invests in whole-person growth.

  • Green flags: Long remote history, strong benefits, post-Series D stability, cross-functional collaboration culture.
  • Watch for: No salary transparency, North America-only scope limits global mobility, stock options (ISO) vs. RSUs may carry more risk.
