Career & Market Insight

This is a high-impact, greenfield role — Chainguard explicitly states it's brand new, meaning you'll be building the MEA field marketing function from scratch. That's a rare career accelerator: direct ownership, budget authority, and the ability to define processes that will outlast your tenure.

Compensation signals: No salary is disclosed, but Senior Field Marketing Manager roles at well-funded B2B cybersecurity scale-ups (Chainguard has raised from Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, IVP) typically range from $130K–$170K USD equivalent in base for EMEA-based roles, with meaningful equity. The 10-year stock option exercise window is notably generous — most companies offer 90 days post-departure.

Skills you'll build:

  • ABM and enterprise demand generation in high-growth cybersecurity
  • Channel-led GTM motion design — increasingly valuable as indirect sales dominate enterprise tech
  • Cross-cultural B2B marketing across UAE, KSA, and South Africa — a rare and marketable specialisation
  • Full-funnel attribution and pipeline metrics ownership

Green flags: Backed by tier-1 VCs, Fortune 500 customer logos, clear company values, generous parental leave, and unlimited PTO point to a well-resourced, mature startup culture. Arabic fluency is preferred but not required, lowering the barrier for non-native speakers.

Watch for: As the sole MEA marketer, you may face resource constraints and will need to advocate internally for budget. A "builder mentality" is explicitly called out — this role suits senior professionals comfortable with ambiguity, not those seeking an established playbook.
