Career & Market Insight

This is a senior field sales leadership role at Abbott, one of the world's top medical device companies, within their fast-growing CardioMEMS (heart failure monitoring) business. It is a newly created position driven by commercial expansion — a strong signal of genuine growth opportunity, not a backfill.

Career development highlights:

  • You will gain P&L-adjacent experience managing a regional territory with autonomy, reporting directly to the UK Country Manager — excellent exposure for future Director-level roles.
  • CardioMEMS is a high-growth, clinically differentiated product in a speciality (heart failure) with strong NHS tailwinds, making this a résumé-building product to have sold.
  • Leading Territory Managers develops core people-management competencies valued across medtech and pharma.

Market context: Regional Sales Manager roles in UK medtech typically range from £70,000–£95,000 base, with OTE of 20–30% on top. Abbott's reputation and benefit package (pension, private healthcare) are above-market for the sector.

Green flags: Global brand, clear investment in training and development, ethical compliance culture, new headcount (not a vacancy).

Watch points: 75% travel is demanding and can affect work-life balance significantly. The role requires near-constant in-person presence, which suits field-oriented professionals but may not suit those transitioning to hybrid work models.

Join Abbott's innovative Heart Failure (HF) business, where we are committed to transforming patient outcomes through cutting-edge cardiovascular technologies.

We are seeking a passionate and driven Regional Sales Manager to lead the commercial team, support the growth, adoption, and clinical excellence of our Heart Failure portfolio dedicated to CardioMEMs — making it the standard of care. As a result of significant expansion, this is a brand-new opportunity.
