Prosigna Sales Training Manager - Biotech Career in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
Compensation & Market Position: The remote salary band of $130,000–$148,000 (up to $175,000 for South San Francisco office) is competitive for a Sales Training Manager in biotech/diagnostics. Industry benchmarks for this level typically range from $110,000–$160,000, placing Veracyte slightly above median — especially strong given the RSU and bonus eligibility.
Career Development: This role sits at the intersection of instructional design, commercial strategy, and life sciences — a high-value skill combination. You'll develop expertise in:
- Adult learning principles and LMS/instructional design in a regulated healthcare environment
- MLR (Medical-Legal-Regulatory) review processes — a sought-after compliance skill in pharma/biotech
- Cross-functional leadership without direct authority (marketing, medical affairs, sales leadership)
- Oncology diagnostics market knowledge (IVD/LDT space)
Company Stage & Culture: Veracyte is a Nasdaq-listed mid-stage commercial diagnostics company, recognized as a Great Place to Work in 2024. This signals a company past early startup chaos but still growing — a sweet spot for career advancement. The culture appears collaborative and values-driven rather than purely metrics-driven.
Green Flags: Clear values articulation, structured onboarding investment, RSU eligibility, and cross-functional exposure. Watch for: The 15–25% travel requirement and the expectation to manage both strategy and administrative execution simultaneously — this role wears many hats, which is a growth opportunity but also a workload consideration.
