Entertainment Travel Consultant at BCD - Grow in TMC in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This role sits within BCD Travel's Media & Entertainment division — a specialized niche within corporate travel that commands premium skills. Clients include major players in Music, Advertising, TV, and Film, meaning you'll handle complex VIP itineraries, large group logistics, and high-confidentiality talent movements. This is a significant step up from standard corporate travel consulting.
Skills developed here are highly marketable:
- GDS Sabre proficiency — still the dominant system for airline ticketing globally
- VIP and entertainment client management — transferable to luxury travel agencies or high-end TMCs
- Complex multi-leg international itinerary building and crisis management
- Confidentiality and discretion handling — valued in executive assistant and concierge roles
Compensation: No salary is disclosed, which is a minor red flag for transparency. Australian entertainment travel consultants typically earn AUD $55,000–$75,000 depending on experience. Senior specialists in entertainment can reach AUD $80,000+. Candidates should negotiate based on GDS expertise and entertainment industry experience.
Green flags: BCD Travel is a genuinely large, stable enterprise ($22.9B in 2024 sales, 15,000+ staff, 170+ countries). Career pathways into global account management, team leadership, or consultancy are plausible. The inclusive culture messaging and wellbeing tools suggest a mature HR function.
Watch out for: The roster flexibility requirement suggests potential after-hours coverage expectations — clarify on-call obligations during the interview.
