Staff PM - Enterprise Cloud at Grafana Labs UK in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
Compensation & market positioning: At GBP 117,949–141,539, this role sits at or above the UK market median for Staff/Senior PM roles in enterprise SaaS. For context, Staff PMs at comparable UK-based cloud/infra companies (HashiCorp, Elastic, Datadog) typically range GBP 100K–130K base. The inclusion of RSUs adds meaningful upside for a company backed by Sequoia and Lightspeed — a signal of pre-IPO or growth-stage optionality.
Skills you'll build:
- Deep expertise in regulated cloud deployments (FedRAMP, BYOC, sovereign cloud) — a highly differentiated and in-demand niche with few experienced PMs in the market.
- Enterprise GTM skills: pricing, packaging, reseller/channel management, and federal sales cycles.
- AI-assisted product development workflows — increasingly table-stakes, but valuable to formalize.
- Cross-functional influence at scale without direct authority — a key signal of readiness for Director-level roles.
Culture signals: "High trust, low ego, outcomes over optics" and "approachable leadership" are green flags for autonomy-seekers. The open-source DNA typically brings engineering-led culture — great for technically-minded PMs. The 30-day PTO + shutdown days signal genuine work-life balance investment.
Career trajectory: This Staff PM role bridges technical depth and enterprise GTM — an ideal launchpad toward Director of Product or VP of Product roles in infrastructure/cloud, particularly in the booming govtech and regulated-industry SaaS space. The FedRAMP/sovereign cloud expertise you'd develop here is rare and commands premium positioning in 2025's market.

About Product Management
As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own the experience for your product as well as its roadmap and competitive positioning, and you will collaborate with company leadership on setting your product's goals. You will be the primary advocate and expert in your area, with a strong ability to communicate needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders.
The teams and people you will be interacting with will be 100% remote and globally distributed, so strong and proactive communication is essential. Product Managers are the bridge that connects R&D to GTM — a facilitator who ensures the free flow of information across these teams and is expected to be technically proficient when representing our products to customers.
The Role
As the Staff Product Manager for Enterprise Deployment Solutions, you'll own the Grafana Labs offerings that run outside our standard multi-tenant SaaS. That includes:
- Grafana Federal Cloud — for organizations that need FedRAMP-authorized observability: US federal agencies; state, local, and education (SLED) customers; and commercial companies that sell FedRAMP offerings of their own.
- Grafana Cloud Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) — which delivers the full Grafana Cloud experience while the customer pays the infrastructure bill directly to their cloud provider, saving them significantly at scale.
Your mission is to make Grafana Labs the obvious choice for organizations that can't use standard SaaS because of compliance, data, or cost-at-scale constraints. You'll be responsible for adapting existing Grafana Cloud capabilities to these environments, deciding which features come in, which wait, and which stay out — and occasionally building something specific to BYOC or Federal Cloud. You'll also help shape which deployment models we offer next.
Along the way, you'll use AI tools daily to speed up research, analyze product signals, and develop positioning, applying strong judgment to the results.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Grafana BYOC and Grafana Federal Cloud, using product data and market research to balance customer value against engineering cost and technical constraints.
- Own positioning, messaging, and differentiation for these products — including how they compare to regular Grafana Cloud — and partner with Product Marketing on launches, competitive analysis, enablement, and demand programs.
- Partner with Engineering and Technical Program Management on buildouts, balancing customer timelines with engineering capacity.
- Work directly with customers, prospects, and the field on strategic deals, and brief partners, resellers, and analysts on our deployment options.
- Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal to work through product changes affecting our authorization or existing customer commitments.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of product management experience on a technical B2B product, or a technical background (software engineering, solutions architecture, SRE, or technical program management) plus a demonstrated move into product ownership.
- Hands-on experience with a non-standard SaaS deployment model, such as self-managed, air-gapped, sovereign, BYOC, single-tenant, or FedRAMP/government cloud, with firsthand understanding of how it changes the product, its operations, and its economics.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform software, or developer tools.
- Clear product and go-to-market judgment: you've shaped what a product should be and how it's positioned and sold, not only when it ships.
- Interest in working with US public sector customers and learning their needs and buying cycles. Deep compliance expertise isn't required.
- Experience leading across multiple teams without direct authority, with excellent written and verbal communication in a remote, globally distributed organization.
Bonus Points
- Experience selling to or building for US federal, state, or local government customers, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with government or sovereign cloud frameworks such as FedRAMP, StateRAMP/GovRAMP, BSI C5, or SecNumCloud, or with offerings such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, AWS European Sovereign Cloud, or GCP Sovereign Cloud.
- Experience with pricing and packaging across deployment models.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, or other data-intensive infrastructure products.
- Experience working with resellers, systems integrators, or cloud marketplace partners.
- Familiarity with open source software or commercial open source companies.

In the UK, the base compensation range for this role is GBP 117,949 – GBP 141,539. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.
