Senior PS Manager – Cybersecurity Leadership at Chainguard in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a high-impact leadership role at a well-funded, high-growth cybersecurity startup backed by Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and IVP — a marquee investor lineup that signals serious scale ambitions and a likely IPO trajectory. Getting in at this stage as a Senior Manager puts you in a strong position for VP-level advancement as the company grows.
Compensation benchmarks: While no salary is listed, Senior PS Manager roles at similarly-staged US-headquartered security startups in the UK typically range from £90,000–£130,000 base, plus meaningful equity. The 10-year option exercise window is a standout benefit — industry standard is 90 days post-departure, so this dramatically reduces risk for long-term holders.
Skills you'll develop:
- Enterprise delivery leadership in the fast-growing software supply chain security space
- Cross-functional influence across Sales, Engineering, and Product in a scaling org
- Operational rigor: KPI management, capacity planning, and methodology standardization
- People leadership — managing and developing Solutions Architects is highly transferable to VP of PS or VP of CS roles
Green flags: Strong investor backing, Fortune 500 customer base, clear values around transparency and trust, unlimited PTO, and 18 weeks parental leave signal a mature people-first culture despite startup pace.
Watch for: No salary transparency, and the role covers a broad segment independently — validate team size and headcount expectations before accepting to ensure the workload is manageable.
