Senior Technical PM - Biometrics & Global Health Impact in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a strong opportunity for a senior product manager looking to combine technical depth with mission-driven work. Here's how it stacks up from a career perspective:
Compensation: At £60,000–£70,000, Simprints is paying at the lower end of the senior PM market in the UK (where Senior PMs typically command £70,000–£100,000+), but this is a nonprofit — and the trade-off is significant mission alignment, global exposure, and an unusually strong culture. For candidates based outside the UK, this salary may be very competitive depending on local market rates.
Skills you'll develop:
- End-to-end ownership of mobile and cloud product delivery in complex, low-resource environments
- Stakeholder management across NGOs, government health ministries, and international development organizations
- Biometric technology and ethical AI/ID — a niche, high-demand area in global health tech and govtech
- Agile cross-functional coordination between mobile and cloud engineering teams
Green flags: 4-day workweek, unlimited PTO, GLG network access, and a named "Eduprints" budget signal genuine investment in employee wellbeing and growth. Alumni have moved into Google, USAID, and Gavi — indicating the role builds transferable, high-value credibility.
Culture signals: Simprints reads as a mission-led scale-up — externally verified as a Great Place to Work and Best Workplace for Women 2025. The CPO direct-reporting line and cross-departmental scope suggest real visibility and influence, not a middle-management bottleneck role.
One watch-out: Nonprofit compensation ceilings can limit long-term earning growth. If financial progression is a priority, plan an exit timeline or negotiate equity-equivalent perks upfront.
Headquarters: United Kingdom
