Career & Market Insight

This role is best understood as a long-term freelance retainer with a major localization company, not a full-time career move. However, it offers meaningful professional value in the right context.

Career development signals:

  • Working with Welo Global (500,000+ linguist network, 7 ISO certifications) is a strong portfolio credential — clients recognize the brand.
  • Exposure to multiple content types (marketing, legal, product) broadens translation specialization, increasing market value.
  • CAT tool proficiency is increasingly required across the industry; training provided here is a tangible skill gain.

Compensation context: No rate is published. Market rates for EN→HE professional translation typically range from $0.10–$0.18 per source word for experienced translators. At 1,000 words/week, that's roughly $100–$180/week gross — confirming this is supplementary income.

Work-life balance: Fully async with flexible scheduling, which is excellent. The low volume commitment means minimal deadline pressure.

Green flags: Long-term engagement, reputable global client, training included, diverse content types.
Red flags: Very low volume limits income potential; no benefits, no rate transparency in the posting. Hebrew translators seeking full-time equivalent work should use this to anchor a broader freelance portfolio rather than rely on it exclusively.
