Career & Market Insight

This Enterprise Sales VP role at Garner is a high-stakes, high-reward individual contributor position at a Series E healthtech company that has doubled revenue five years in a row. That growth stage is a strong green flag — there's real product-market fit, and the Sales VP title carries weight.

Compensation benchmarking: The $425K–$475K OTE (base + bonus) plus equity is well above the $250K–$350K typical for enterprise sales VP roles in healthtech. This signals Garner values strong performers and that quotas are likely ambitious to match.

Skills this role builds:

  • Executive-level selling (CHRO/CFO) in complex, politically layered organizations (health systems)
  • Data-driven sales strategy — turning clinical and financial datasets into buying narratives
  • AI-augmented sales workflows, explicitly mentioned as expected
  • Healthcare benefits domain expertise, one of the most durable and transferable skill sets in B2B sales

Culture signals: The language is notably intense — "demanding by design," "stretch beyond what you thought possible," "not the right fit for everyone." This is a high-performance culture, not a work-life-balance-first environment. Flexible PTO is listed, but the role's nature (national territory, C-suite relationships) implies substantial personal time investment.

Green flags: Mission-driven with measurable outcomes, Series E stability, equity upside, and a well-defined territory. Watch for: Quota expectations at this OTE level will be demanding — candidates should clarify ramp timelines and quota structure before accepting.

What You'll Be Part Of

Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system — and we're the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster.

The result is a rare "win win" — better care and lower costs for both members and employers. In just five years, our work has helped over 2.5 million people access higher-quality care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. We recently raised our Series E and have doubled five years running. If you've ever wanted your work to solve a problem that touches every person in this country, this is the opportunity to do exactly that. You'd be joining a team fundamentally reimagining healthcare in the U.S. — and using AI to scale that impact further and faster than anyone else can.

Who We Want

This is a role for someone who wants to work on a hard problem, deliver real impact, and be pushed to be the best version of themselves. As an Enterprise Sales VP, you'll be embedded in the Enterprise Sales team and report directly to the VP, Public and Labor.

The Enterprise Sales VP, Hospital and Health Systems will expand our footprint with large health systems as self-funded employers through direct sales: Garner for their own workforce. This is an individual contributor seat with a defined national territory — a named book of U.S. health systems at 10,000+ employees, with the largest systems co-sold alongside the team lead. We are expanding our team in order to continue to hit our ambitious Enterprise Sales goals. We are searching for a candidate who possesses the exceptional ability to establish and cultivate high-level relationships, as this will be instrumental in our pursuit of growth and innovation.

What You Will Do

  • Own the direct sales cycles and deploy sales objectives through the preparation and measuring of sales quotas, prospecting and pipeline management across a named national book of health systems.
  • Run the CHRO / CFO / Total Rewards sale inside health systems, including the domestic-steerage narrative (savings on the employee plan plus keeping appropriate care inside the system's own high-quality providers) and payer-provider fit screening.
  • Keep current with market knowledge and competitor products to effectively communicate the value proposition of a relationship with Garner.
  • Support the development of new, strategic relationships with the benefits consultants who serve health systems, and influence the buying decision.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of deep sales experience with a focus on health benefits (medical, ancillary, vendor) via brokers, consultants, and insurers.
  • 5+ years selling into hospitals / health systems strongly preferred, with an understanding of how health systems buy for their own employees: HR and benefits under margin pressure, the domestic-utilization agenda, and system politics between HR, finance, and clinical leadership.
  • Existing relationships with health-system CHROs / Total Rewards leaders and the consultants who serve them.
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience selling large Enterprise clients.
  • Data literacy with the ability to turn complex, disparate datasets into insights that drive actions.
  • Proven experience developing processes (sales playbooks, KPIs, collateral creation, etc.) and executing on sales strategies to promote long-term success.
  • A desire to do work that matters and to be held to a high standard while doing it. You're energized by a mission with measurable outcomes, not just good intentions. You engage with AI tools as part of how you do your best work, and hold yourself accountable to outcomes that matter beyond your team's metrics.

What You'll Get Here

You'll work on problems that matter, at a company working to change healthcare at scale. You'll work at the intersection of AI and systemic healthcare reform, where the problems we solve are as interesting and compelling as the mission.

At Garner, you'll take on real, ambitious problems with real ownership and autonomy, alongside exceptional, principles-based people who genuinely want you to win. It's demanding by design. You'll be challenged to stretch beyond what you thought possible and receive consistent coaching to help you grow and do the best work of your career. This isn't the right fit for everyone, and that's intentional. The people here are driven by what's at stake for real people, and that's what gives our intensity its purpose.

Where You Will Work
