Career & Market Insight

Work-Life Balance: The freelance structure gives you full control over your caseload and schedule — a significant advantage for practitioners seeking to avoid burnout. You can scale hours up or down based on your other commitments or private practice.

Compensation Transparency: No salary is disclosed, which is a yellow flag. Telehealth platform rates in Southeast Asia typically range from $20–60 USD per session for contracted practitioners. Clarify session rates, payment frequency, and minimum session guarantees before committing.

Skills & Market Value: Experience with EAP (Employee Assistance Programs) and telehealth platforms is increasingly in demand globally. This role builds:

  • Digital clinical practice experience
  • Cross-cultural counselling competencies
  • Evidence-based modality application (CBT, DBT, MI)
  • Platform-based service delivery — a growing sector

Company Signals: Intellect is a well-funded mental health startup operating across Asia. Partnering with them can provide credibility and a steady client pipeline without the overhead of running a private practice.

Green Flags: Collaborative clinical team, clear clinical focus areas, opportunity to influence platform development. Watch for: Lack of salary transparency, no mention of supervision or CPD support — important for clinical professional development and licensure maintenance.
