Career & Market Insight

This is a rare opportunity to step into a CEO seat without the fundraising grind of founding a startup. saas.group provides back-office infrastructure (finance, HR, administration), meaning you can focus on pure operational and strategic leadership — a significant advantage for operators who want to lead without managing cap tables or investor relations solo.

Compensation transparency is a green flag: saas.group explicitly commits to sharing salary ranges in writing before the first interview, and states pay is location-adjusted to local market medians. For a CEO role at a mid-sized acquired SaaS brand, market benchmarks in Europe typically range from €120,000–€250,000+ annually depending on ARR and country, with potential equity or performance incentives at this level.

Skills you'll develop:

  • Full P&L ownership in a post-acquisition, scale-up context — highly transferable to future CEO or investor roles.
  • Cross-functional GTM leadership (PLG, enterprise sales, partnerships) across a global remote team.
  • Operating within a portfolio company structure, developing fluency in M&A integration and group-level governance.

Culture signals: "Minimum bureaucracy," high autonomy, and a founder-like mandate are strong signals of a results-over-process culture. This suits operators who thrive with freedom but may frustrate those who need structured support systems.

Key flag to note: This is a pipeline posting, not a live opening. Timeline to placement is uncertain — best suited for candidates proactively managing their career pipeline rather than seeking an immediate transition. The upside is early positioning before a specific acquisition is announced.

Note: This job ad is intended to spark interest rather than announce an immediate opening. The role is for a future CEO position at saas.group, tied to potential upcoming acquisitions. We are continuously acquiring new businesses and are building a strong talent pool of ambitious leaders who want to step into CEO roles within our portfolio. If you see yourself leading a SaaS business with us in the future, we'd love to connect.

Profile Overview

We are looking for a CEO to lead one of our next acquisitions into its next stage of growth and scale. As CEO, you will own the brand's P&L, strategy, growth, culture, and overall performance, driving both short-term execution and long-term strategic direction. You will work closely with our leadership team, board, and the broader saas.group community to deliver impact across go-to-market, product, operations, and finance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a bold, market-aware brand strategy, aligning with saas.group objectives and adapting to changing dynamics.
  • Lead go-to-market execution (PLG, inbound/enterprise sales, partnerships), owning commercial performance and revenue growth.
  • Drive operational excellence: build budgets, track KPIs, optimize ROI, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing leadership team; create succession plans and ensure organizational resilience.
  • Foster innovation by identifying disruptive trends (including AI), experimenting with new business models, and making data-driven bets that strengthen market position.
  • Champion a strong culture: set high performance standards, encourage collaboration, ensure alignment with saas.group values, and embed diversity and inclusion.
  • Represent the brand externally with customers, partners, investors, and industry stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proven leadership experience as a CEO, GM, or senior executive in a B2B SaaS company, with a strong track record of driving growth and building enduring businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft and execute strategy, including successful GTM approaches (PLG, enterprise sales, partnerships) and strategic market decisions.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility, with proven ability to link financial discipline to sustainable growth.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation through process improvements, operational standardization, and adoption of cutting-edge practices.
  • A talent magnet: skilled at hiring, developing, and retaining top performers, mentoring future leaders, and creating succession pipelines.
  • Strong people leadership: ability to set goals, hold teams accountable, address performance issues decisively, and nurture a culture of excellence.
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to communicate a compelling long-term direction that inspires both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • AI Literacy & Application: You actively use AI tools to enhance personal productivity and work quality, staying curious about emerging capabilities and identifying opportunities to apply AI pragmatically in day-to-day work.

What's in it for You

  • Ultimate flexibility: We're 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We're a high-trust team, and you'll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don't like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning, and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

We don't just simply offer you to "take a job with us" but rather to "join us on this journey" to build the world's largest platform of independent SaaS companies.

Sounds like something you're up for? Feel free to apply even if you don't check all these boxes. We believe in the power of diversity and fresh perspectives to spice up our team. Your application might just be the missing ingredient!
