Strategic AE at Proof - Enterprise Identity SaaS Sales in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a high-ceiling enterprise sales role at a fintech/legaltech company with a compelling first-mover story in digital identity and notarization. For seasoned AEs with a track record in identity verification, IAM, or SaaS platforms, this represents a strong career opportunity.
Compensation signals: The posting doesn't specify a base salary range, but enterprise SaaS AEs closing $1M+ contracts at identity-focused fintechs typically command $150K–$220K OTE (base + commission), with top performers exceeding that. Equity is included, which matters at a growth-stage company.
Skills you'll develop:- Enterprise deal strategy and executive stakeholder management in regulated industries
- Deep expertise in digital identity, fraud prevention, AML/KYC — one of the fastest-growing segments in enterprise software
- Complex contract negotiation (cross-team: Legal, Finance, Product)
- Challenger sales methodology in a competitive market
Green flags: Proof has genuine market differentiation (first mover in online notarization), a strong brand story, and a values-driven culture. Unlimited PTO, 12-week parental leave, and a sabbatical program suggest above-average commitment to employee wellbeing for a startup.
Watch-outs: The 50% travel requirement is substantial and can cause burnout over time. The role is an individual contributor position — if you're seeking people management progression, clarify upward mobility paths during interviews. No defined OTE range in the posting is a minor yellow flag; push for transparency on quota and accelerator structure.

Since 2015, we've completed many of the world's first digital commerce transactions, including the first online real estate closing, online mortgage closing, online auto sale, and online will — and we're still just getting started!
