Career & Market Insight

This is a senior individual contributor role at a fast-scaling DTC startup, ideal for supply chain professionals ready to own a high-impact function end-to-end. Quince, founded in 2018 and backed by strong investors, is in a clear growth phase — which typically means high visibility, faster career progression, and the chance to shape processes from the ground up.

Compensation: No salary is listed, but Sourcing Manager roles at DTC/e-commerce companies with 8+ years of experience typically command $110,000–$160,000 annually in the U.S. market. Given the Americas focus and potential for candidates based in LATAM, compensation may be adjusted for geography — worth clarifying upfront.

Skills you'll develop:

  • End-to-end Americas supply chain strategy — highly transferable to any DTC or retail brand.
  • Just-in-time (JIT) and Made-to-Consumer (MTC) manufacturing models — increasingly in demand as more brands nearshore.
  • Supplier negotiation, onboarding, and performance management at scale.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Merchants and Product Development teams.

Green flags: The company values data-driven decisions, candor, and distributed decision-making — signals of a healthy startup culture. The role has clear KPIs (<0.5% defect rate, <14-day lead time), which means performance is measurable and rewarding for high achievers.

Watch out for: The emphasis on "frequent ambiguity" and "no precedent" signals this is a build-from-scratch environment. Candidates who prefer established processes may find it stressful. Supplier travel expectations are not quantified — probe this during interviews.

THE ROLE

Sourcing Manager, Apparel

We are seeking a self-starter and problem-solver who is successful in combining technology and data into best-in-class outcomes. The candidate is energized by solving complex business problems and consistently effective in making high-judgment decisions at a rapid pace amidst frequent ambiguity. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where strategy, innovation, and decision-making are intentionally distributed, and where candor, speed, and data are highly valued.

The Sourcing Manager, Americas/Apparel will focus on sourcing opportunities in Mexico, Central America, and South America but is not limited to these regions. This role is critical to optimizing Quince's supply chain by re-sourcing existing products with long lead times and high logistics costs, as well as identifying and launching new products from the Americas region to drive business growth. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for scouting potential suppliers, pitching them on Quince's business model, conducting cost analyses for key products, and onboarding suppliers into our fast-paced supply chain. Additionally, they will ensure supplier continuity, conduct periodic business reviews, and drive operational efficiencies.

This role is pivotal to Quince's continued growth and success. Enabling Americas Sourcing to its full potential will drive faster lead times, lower logistics costs, and greater alignment with our Made-to-Consumer (MTC) model.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a category supply chain strategy, including multi-sourcing for the Apparel (women's/men's/kids) segment, across bottoms.
  • Identify, vet, and onboard supplier partners, coaching them to operate within Quince's rapid replenishment, M2C (Made-to-Consumer) model.
  • Train suppliers on Quince OS, including operational efficiency (rapid lead times, consumer focus), financial modeling (high ROIC), and technical capabilities (Vendor Portal).
  • Product Expansion: Collaborate with Merchants and Product Development teams to introduce new styles and colors approved through our NPC process.
  • Drive Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure high-quality standards (<0.5% defect rate).
    • Optimize supply chain for speed and accuracy (Replenishment Lead Time < 14 days).
    • Maintain inventory availability (>99% in-stock).
    • Improve margin accretion through cost efficiencies and strategic sourcing.
  • Conduct Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews with supplier management, analyzing strategy, performance highlights, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supplier Management with major U.S.-based retailers.
  • Established factory partnerships within bottoms apparel across the Americas (Mexico, Central America, South America) and/or Asia (including India, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and China, where relevant).
  • Passion for product development with a track record of leveraging vendor expertise to design, cost-engineer, and bring products to market.
  • Strong general management (GM) mindset, with experience in lean manufacturing, just-in-time (JIT) processes, and supply chain optimization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with a strong focus on execution, problem-solving, and process improvement.
  • Natural connector who builds and maintains strong relationships between internal teams and supplier partners to drive collaboration and shared success.
  • Proactive and assertive, with the ability to self-manage in a remote/home-office setting while staying closely connected to the broader organization.
  • Excellent communicator, with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
