Career & Market Insight

This is a senior-level individual contributor role within one of the world's largest corporate travel management companies, with $22.9B in 2024 sales. For travel industry professionals, BCD Travel carries strong brand recognition and offers genuine global exposure.

Career development signals:

  • The role includes informal leadership duties — coaching junior consultants and leading in the team lead's absence — which builds a path toward a formal team lead or operations manager position.
  • Experience with ERM (Emergency Response Management), marine, and offshore crew travel is a niche, high-demand specialization that commands premium rates and opens doors in energy, logistics, and maritime sectors.
  • Advanced GDS Amadeus proficiency remains a core, marketable skill in corporate travel, and refining it at scale is a genuine resume asset.

Work-life balance signals are moderately positive: flexible hours and remote work are advertised, but the 24/7 service environment implies rotational or shift-based scheduling, which can affect personal time.

Compensation: No salary is disclosed. Market rates for senior travel consultants in Brazil typically range from BRL 4,000–7,000/month, though ERM/crew specialists can command premiums. Candidates should benchmark against local competitors before accepting.

Green flags: Global client exposure, niche specialization, inclusive culture, and a large stable company. Watch for: limited creative autonomy in a process-driven environment and potential shift fatigue in a round-the-clock operation.
