Career & Market Insight

This is a mid-level entry point into sales compensation — a specialized and increasingly in-demand niche within FP&A and RevOps. Professionals who develop deep expertise in sales comp administration often progress to Senior Analyst, Comp Manager, or Director of Revenue Operations roles within 3–5 years.

Compensation vs. market: At $74K–$105K depending on location, this is broadly aligned with market rates for a Sales Compensation Analyst with 2+ years of experience. Glassdoor and Levels.fyi data suggest the national median for this role sits around $80K–$95K, so Liftoff's range is competitive, especially with equity and a performance bonus on top.

Skills you'll build:

  • Hands-on mastery of ICM (Incentive Compensation Management) tools like Performio, CaptivateIQ, or Spiff — highly marketable skills
  • CRM data reconciliation and cross-functional Finance/Sales collaboration
  • Scenario modeling and compensation plan design exposure

Culture signals: Liftoff is a well-funded, growth-stage ad-tech company (founded 2012, global scale). The role sits within FP&A with a clear growth path to becoming a "trusted point of contact for GTM leadership" — a strong signal that this isn't a siloed data-entry job. The emphasis on agency, urgency, and autonomy suggests a lean team where your contributions will be visible.

Green flags: Equity included, clear scope expansion path, cross-functional exposure. Watch for: Deadline intensity around monthly/quarterly cycles may limit true work-life flexibility during close periods.
