Policy Analyst - Ad Tech & Privacy Law at ZoomInfo in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This Policy Analyst role at ZoomInfo sits at a genuinely high-value intersection of tech, law, and public affairs — a niche that is growing rapidly as privacy and ad tech regulation intensifies globally.
Compensation Context: The $80k–$110k range is competitive for a mid-level policy analyst role, particularly in a remote-first tech company. In-person DC policy roles at comparable seniority often pay similarly but with a far higher cost of living. Bonus and equity upside adds meaningful total compensation potential at a NASDAQ-listed company.
Skills You'll Build:
- Deep expertise in US federal and state privacy law, ad tech regulation, and AI policy — skills in extremely high demand as regulators ramp up scrutiny of data brokers and digital advertising.
- Coalition management and stakeholder engagement — transferable to lobbying, trade associations, or think tanks.
- Cross-functional communication: translating complex regulatory language for business leadership is a rare and valued skill.
Culture & Growth Signals: ZoomInfo is a publicly traded, growth-stage tech company with a fast-paced culture. The "careers accelerate" messaging and emphasis on self-starters suggests a high-performance environment that rewards output. This is not a slow-moving government agency — expect urgency and ambiguity.
Green Flags: Clear scope, named external coalitions to engage, and exposure to C-suite reporting suggest real influence. Watch for: The role's focus is US-centric; if international policy breadth is your goal, confirm the scope has room to expand.
Headquarters: Remote

ZoomInfo is seeking a highly motivated Policy Analyst to join our Government & Regulatory Affairs team. In this role, you will track, analyze, and report on key legislation and regulations impacting ZoomInfo's core business model — with a specialized focus on ad tech, alongside our foundational priorities in privacy, artificial intelligence, and data brokering.
You will work closely with internal leadership and external coalitions to evaluate legislative proposals, draft advocacy materials, and help shape our public policy positions in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
What You'll Do:
Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor federal, state, and international legislative and regulatory developments relevant to ZoomInfo, with particular emphasis on ad tech, privacy, AI, and data brokerage.
- Ad Tech Policy Expertise: Analyze policy proposals concerning first- and third-party advertising, cookies, pixels, SDKs, tracking technologies, and targeted/behavioral advertising.
- Impact & Risk Evaluation: Evaluate bill proposals based on their likelihood of passage and potential operational and strategic impact on ZoomInfo and our customers.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare concise, regular status reports on key legislation for upper management and industry coalitions, including the Business Information Coalition (BIC) and the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF).
- Advocacy & Drafting: Draft compelling outreach communications for advocacy and rulemaking, including memos, talk tracks, policy briefs, and presentation materials.
- Coalition Engagement: Represent ZoomInfo in regular meetings with allied organizations and industry working groups.
What You Bring:
- Analytical Excellence: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to distill complex technical and legal policy into clear concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ad Tech Fluency: Solid foundational understanding of digital advertising mechanics — including cookies, pixels, SDKs, cross-context behavioral advertising, and first- versus third-party data flows.
- Strategic & Self-Motivated: A high-energy self-starter capable of generating creative, strategic solutions to high-level policy and advocacy challenges.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing deadlines, and drive projects to completion.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Computer Science/Information Policy, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in a legislative, regulatory, or public policy role (corporate, trade association, or government), with a demonstrated understanding of federal and state lawmaking processes. Experience with technology, privacy, or digital advertising policy is strongly preferred.
