Career & Market Insight

High-ownership, high-impact role — Lemon.io is a vetted freelance developer marketplace backed by real scale. Owning "supply acquisition" end-to-end is a genuinely senior growth function. You're not executing someone else's strategy; you're building the growth engine from scratch, which is rare and career-defining experience.

Skills you'll build:

  • Multi-channel growth experimentation (inbound SEO, outbound, community, influencer marketing)
  • Funnel automation and no-code/low-code scaling — highly in-demand skills in 2024+
  • Analytics and A/B testing rigor in a marketplace context
  • Candidate/user acquisition in the two-sided marketplace model — a specialized and valuable niche

Compensation: No salary is listed, which is a mild yellow flag. For a senior Growth Manager at a marketplace startup, market rates typically range from $90,000–$140,000 USD annually in the US; remote-first companies often align closer to $70,000–$110,000. Negotiate firmly, especially given the high ownership scope.

Culture signals: The hyper-focused "one metric" framing signals a lean, results-driven startup culture — likely a small team where generalists thrive. The emphasis on autonomy is a strong green flag for self-directed professionals but may be challenging for those who prefer structured mentorship.

Green flag: Lemon.io serves a growing market (remote developer talent), and growth roles at talent marketplaces translate well to PLG startups, HR tech, and two-sided marketplace companies — a broadly transferable career trajectory.

About the Role:

You'll own supply acquisition. Our business grows as our supply grows. The more qualified candidates on the platform, the more roles we can fill. You will help us build channels and funnels to bring the best engineering talent to our platform and match them with life-changing career opportunities.

Responsibilities

You have one job: grow the number of qualified and relevant candidates entering the platform. There is no second metric. Every day is spent moving that one number:

  • Iterate and scale channels that already work.
  • Find and build new ones.
  • Build the funnels and automation to make them scale without adding people.

What We're Looking For:

  • A growth marketing background, with a proven track record of driving significant user and revenue growth.
  • Experience across a wide variety of acquisition channels: inbound, outbound, communities, influencers, etc.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools and a solid understanding of A/B testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated autonomy in driving growth initiatives.
  • A "growth hacker" mindset, characterized by creativity, resourcefulness, and a relentless focus on improvement.
