Career & Market Insight

Contract vs. Full-Time Consideration: This is a fixed-term contract through April 2027, not a permanent role. While it offers valuable experience at a high-profile healthtech company, contractors typically don't receive full benefits. Weigh this against permanent BI analyst roles before committing.

Compensation Context: No salary is listed, which is a minor yellow flag for transparency. U.S. BI Analyst contractors with 3+ years of SQL and Python experience typically command $75–$120/hr depending on location and specialization. Doximity is a publicly traded, profitable company (NYSE: DOCS), so contractor rates should be competitive — negotiate accordingly.

Skills You'll Build: This role sharpens highly marketable skills:

  • Advanced SQL and Python (pandas, numpy, statsmodels) for large-scale EDA
  • Healthcare data literacy — increasingly valuable as AI enters clinical workflows
  • Cross-functional stakeholder communication — bridging technical and non-technical teams
  • AI-assisted coding workflows — a forward-looking, in-demand skill set

Culture Signals: Doximity's culture language — curiosity, precision, reliability, autonomy — reads as a mid-size tech company with strong process discipline. The dual career path mentioned (technical depth vs. communication/presentation focus) is a genuine green flag for professional development flexibility.

Green Flags: Trusted platform (85% of U.S. physicians), mission-driven work, and a team that values data quality rigorously. Watch out for: contract-only status limits long-term stability, and no explicit mention of conversion to full-time.

Headquarters: San Francisco, CA or Remote (U.S.)

**This is a contract role expected to last until April 15th, 2027

Location: This role is Remote in the U.S., with the option to work onsite from our San Francisco, CA headquarters.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
