Career & Market Insight

This is a senior executive-level GTM role at one of the most prominent AI/data companies in the world. Databricks serves 70% of the Fortune 500, making this a high-visibility, high-impact position for any cybersecurity or GTM leader.

Compensation analysis: The $308K–$424K base range is above market for most GTM/sales leadership roles. Adding annual performance bonus and equity (likely substantial at Databricks' growth stage), total compensation could well exceed $600K–$800K+. This is consistent with a VP/SVP-level cybersecurity executive role at a late-stage unicorn or pre-IPO company.

Skills developed:

  • Cross-functional GTM leadership at global scale
  • AI-driven security strategy — a highly sought-after and fast-growing specialization
  • Executive-level relationship management (CISO, C-suite)
  • Thought leadership (white papers, conference representation)

Green flags: Reporting directly to a Global VP signals executive access and influence. Databricks is a well-funded, pre-IPO company with a strong IPO narrative, making equity potentially very valuable. The role spans all verticals and geographies — exceptional for resume breadth.

Red flags / watch points: The role requires 15+ years of experience and is very broad in scope — sales programs, enablement, partner management, marketing, and thought leadership simultaneously. This can mean high pressure and diffuse accountability. Ensure clear OKRs are established at onboarding.

Ideal for a cybersecurity executive ready to transition from a practitioner/vendor role into a strategic GTM builder role at a top-tier AI company.
