Cost Engineer Estimator – Construction Glass Niche Role in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This Cost Engineer–Estimator role at Crystalia Glass LLC offers an interesting niche opportunity in the construction materials and specialty glass sector — a relatively underserved market with steady demand from both residential and commercial clients.
Compensation: No salary is disclosed, which is a minor red flag for transparency. For an estimator role, US market benchmarks typically range from $55,000–$90,000 annually depending on experience. Given this appears to target non-US talent (Russian fluency required, Kyrgyzstan hint), compensation may be calibrated to local market rates rather than US standards — worth clarifying upfront.
Skills you'll develop:
- Quantity take-offs and cost estimation from architectural drawings — highly transferable to construction, real estate development, and project management
- Reading civil/mechanical drawings — a durable, in-demand skill in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction)
- Cross-functional communication between technical and sales teams
Green flags: 70–80% annual growth signals a high-energy, expanding company where visibility and advancement are real. The role includes error-correction responsibility, indicating genuine decision-making authority — not just data entry.
Red flags: Fixed EST hours with no schedule flexibility, no salary disclosed, and no mention of benefits beyond basics. The company was founded in 2017 and is still scaling — expect startup-level pace. Best suited for someone who wants to grow with a fast-moving company in a specialized niche.
Founded in 2017 in New York, the company has expanded its presence with offices in Los Angeles, Florida, and Texas. As a nationwide company, we serve clients across America, offering our signature glass products and services to diverse markets.
