Senior HRIS Consultant Role – HR Tech & People Ops in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a senior-level HR technology consulting role that blends HRIS administration, implementation leadership, and people operations advisory — a rare and high-demand combination in the market. The $71K–$115K range is competitive for mid-to-senior HR tech generalists, though HRIS implementation specialists at top consulting firms can command $120K+. The incentive component could meaningfully close that gap.
Skills built in this role are among the most marketable in HR today:
- Multi-platform HRIS expertise (HiBob, Rippling, Dayforce, Workday) — certifications in these systems open doors at vendors, SIs, and enterprise HR teams
- HCM implementation and change management — highly transferable to HR tech consulting, implementation partner firms, or in-house HRIS director roles
- People analytics and workforce reporting — growing demand across all industries
- Client-facing consulting skills — valuable for career pivots into HR advisory or fractional CHRO work
Culture signals: livingHR is a lean, growth-stage professional services firm. "High ownership expectations" and "lean, fast-scaling environment" suggest startup energy — you'll wear many hats but gain broad exposure quickly. The project-based engagement model is a flag worth noting: this is structured as consulting/contract work that may convert to full-time, not a guaranteed permanent hire.
Green flags: Remote-first ethos, cross-industry exposure, multi-system expertise. Watch for: Contract-to-perm ambiguity — clarify employment status and benefits eligibility before accepting.
