IT Onboarding Technician – Azure & HR Tech Career in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This role sits at the intersection of IT operations and HR onboarding — a growing niche sometimes called "IT Onboarding Specialist" or "Employee Experience Technician." It's a solid stepping stone for professionals looking to move into IT Service Management, HRIS, or HR Technology roles.
Compensation: No salary is listed, which is a mild yellow flag. For a role requiring 2–5 years of experience with Azure, Microsoft Entra, and Power BI, market rates typically range from $50,000–$75,000 USD annually in the US. Push for clarity on compensation early in the interview process.
Skills You'll Build:
- Proficiency in Microsoft cloud tooling (Azure, Entra, Endpoint Central) — highly marketable in 2024+
- SOP writing and process documentation — valuable across IT, HR, and operations roles
- Cross-functional stakeholder management between HR, IT, and leadership
- Power BI for reporting and tracking — a sought-after analytics skill
Culture & Company Signals: Vensure is a large PEO (Professional Employer Organization), suggesting a structured, process-driven environment rather than a startup. Expect established workflows, multiple stakeholders, and less autonomy over strategic direction — but also more stability.
Green Flags: Fully remote, cross-functional exposure, and use of modern Microsoft tooling.
Red Flags: No benefits listed, no salary range, and the role's scope (spreadsheet maintenance, ticket updates) may feel repetitive for highly experienced candidates.
This is a remote position.
