Corporate Travel Consultant Role at BCD - Sabre GDS in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This role sits squarely in the corporate travel management niche — a specialized, resilient segment of the travel industry dominated by a handful of global players. BCD Travel, with $22.9 billion in 2024 sales and 15,000+ staff, is a top-3 global TMC, making this a genuinely prestigious employer for travel professionals.
Skills developed:
- Advanced GDS Sabre proficiency — one of the most in-demand technical skills in the travel industry globally
- Corporate travel policy management and client consultancy
- Regulatory compliance (DOT, TSA, visa/passport logistics)
- Client relationship management across multinational accounts
Compensation: No salary is disclosed, which is a mild yellow flag. For a corporate travel consultant in Australia with 3+ years of experience, market rates typically range from AUD 55,000–75,000 annually depending on account complexity and shift patterns. Candidates should benchmark against this range during negotiation.
Green flags: Permanent full-time role with a global Fortune-level employer; structured Sabre training provided; inclusive culture language; genuine remote/hybrid flexibility; wellbeing tools included in the package.
Potential considerations: Rostered shift flexibility suggests some unsociable hours may apply. Career progression within a large TMC can be strong — paths lead to senior consultant, team leader, account management, or operations roles. This is a solid platform for anyone serious about a long-term corporate travel career.
