Career & Market Insight

This Solutions Engineer role at Infisical sits at the intersection of pre-sales, customer success, and developer advocacy — a rare combination that builds a highly versatile, market-valuable skill set. You'll develop deep expertise in DevSecOps, secrets management, and security infrastructure, which are among the fastest-growing areas in enterprise software.

Compensation signals: No salary is disclosed publicly, but YC-backed companies at Infisical's stage ($19M raised) typically offer Solutions Engineers $130K–$180K OTE in the US, plus meaningful early-stage equity. The equity component here is notable given the company's traction (customers like Hugging Face, LG) and strong investor backing (Google, Elad Gil).

Career development highlights:

  • Direct access to the CEO and founding team accelerates career growth and visibility.
  • You'll build skills in technical sales, enterprise onboarding, product feedback loops, and developer community engagement — all highly transferable.
  • Open-source product experience is increasingly valued at companies like HashiCorp, Snyk, and Datadog.

Culture signals: Early-stage startup (~Series A), high-ownership culture, explicit comfort with ambiguity required. Team pedigree from Databricks, AWS, and Red Hat suggests a technically rigorous environment. In-person offsites signal investment in team cohesion despite being remote-first.

Green flags: Strong investor backing, real enterprise customers, open-source moat, and a role defined as "one of the defining pieces" of the team — clear upward mobility. Watch for: No defined PTO policy mentioned and no explicit salary range, which are common at this stage but worth clarifying in interviews.

Infisical is the open source security infrastructure platform that engineers use for secrets management, certificates, and privileged access management. We help developers and organizations securely manage billions of secrets every month including application configuration, database credentials, certificates, and more.

We've raised $19M from Y Combinator, Google, and Elad Gil, and our customers include Hugging Face, Lucid, and LG.

Join us on a mission to make security easier for all developers — starting with secrets management. We're looking to hire exceptional talent to join us in building the open source security infrastructure stack for the AI era.

About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional Solutions Engineer to help grow Infisical's customer base and ensure a seamless product experience from onboarding to long-term success.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role where you'll work closely with our CEO, sales, and engineering teams. You'll play a critical role in helping organizations adopt Infisical by demonstrating technical value, driving successful implementations, and expanding product usage across accounts.

You'll be working directly with the CEO, engineering, and sales teams on:

  • Running proof-of-concept engagements with leads, guiding customers through onboarding, and recommending best practices for specific architectures and use cases.
  • Ensuring new customers are activated, happy, and have all of their questions answered.
  • Becoming a trusted technical advisor to customer and business leaders.
  • Working in tandem with account executives to lead demo & discovery calls.
  • Talking to customers daily to find points of friction and potential improvements in workflows, understanding customer needs, and providing feedback toward the product roadmap.
  • Understanding the user journey and guiding the UX/DX roadmap.
  • Hosting webinars and knowledge-sharing sessions for customers' stakeholders.
  • Improving documentation and public-facing materials based on customer feedback.

Overall, you're going to be one of the defining pieces of our team as we scale to thousands of customers over the next 18 months.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in development, systems engineering, or DevOps (open source contributions are a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to clearly articulate technical concepts.
  • High energy, high ownership mindset, and a willingness to operate in ambiguity.
  • Currently based in the Central or East Coast time zone (US).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with secret management tools or developer security platforms.
  • Solid understanding of developer workflows and/or DevSecOps infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-scaling environment.
  • Past involvement in developer communities or public speaking (webinars, talks, etc.).
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, DevRel).
  • Experience supporting enterprise accounts and working with technical stakeholders.
