Senior Finance Systems Manager - NetSuite Leadership Role in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This is a senior individual-contributor-meets-people-manager hybrid role at a high-growth, VC-backed dental tech startup. The explicit mention of "building" and "shaping" the Finance Systems function signals this is a greenfield leadership opportunity — ideal for someone who wants to leave a lasting organizational imprint rather than maintain an existing structure.
Compensation context: No salary is listed, but Senior Manager, Finance Systems roles at US tech startups typically range from $140,000–$185,000 base annually, often with equity. Dandy's VC backing and $400B market framing suggest competitive comp packages. Candidates should negotiate for equity given the early-stage scope-building nature of the role.
Skills this role develops:
- NetSuite architecture and SuiteScript — high-demand ERP skills in the mid-market space
- Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash process ownership — transferable to CFO-adjacent roles
- Cross-functional leadership with Engineering and Accounting — builds a rare technical-finance bridge skillset
- Data visualization (Looker, Hex) — increasingly valued in modern finance ops
Green flags: Clear reporting structure (Head of Finance Systems), explicit growth path mentions, global expansion context, and a genuine scope-building mandate. The GDPR mention also signals international ambition.
Watch for: The 7+ years requirement combined with a "startup environment" framing may mean high workload expectations. Clarify team size, current NetSuite state, and whether the role is replacing someone or newly created.
