Career & Market Insight

Tech Stack Depth: This role exposes you to a genuinely modern and broad infrastructure stack — Kubernetes, Terraform/Pulumi, Kafka, Patroni (HA PostgreSQL), Vault, and ELK. These are highly marketable, in-demand skills across cloud-native and SRE roles globally, positioning you well for senior IC or staff-level roles at larger tech firms.

iGaming Industry Context: SOFTSWISS operates in the iGaming/online casino space — a high-availability, compliance-heavy domain that demands serious infrastructure resilience. Experience here translates well to fintech, adtech, or other latency-sensitive industries.

Compensation Reality: No salary is disclosed. Market benchmarks for Senior DevOps/SRE in remote-first European companies (especially Poland-headquartered) typically range from $60,000–$90,000 annually for B2B contracts or local equivalents. If offered a local Polish contract, ensure the rate reflects remote/international market standards.

Green Flags:

  • Genuine full-time remote with flexible hours — rare at senior level in some regions
  • Mental health programme signals awareness of engineer burnout
  • Conference participation and internal workshops support continuous learning
  • International team suggests diverse collaboration experience

Watch Points:

  • Russian language requirement (B1+) narrows the candidate pool and may reflect CIS-region team composition — confirm team distribution for timezone fit
  • No mention of on-call structure or incident response compensation — worth clarifying given the monitoring/alerting responsibilities

Headquarters: Nowy Rynek Poznań, 61-579 Poland

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this role truly fully remote or is there an expectation to work from Poland occasionally?
The posting explicitly states "full-time remote work opportunities" and the job is listed as open "Anywhere in the World," suggesting no office attendance is required. It's worth confirming during the interview whether occasional travel to the Poznań HQ is ever expected.
Why is Russian language proficiency required for a remote global role?
SOFTSWISS is headquartered in Poland but has a significant CIS-region team presence, meaning many colleagues or stakeholders may communicate in Russian. B1+ (intermediate) level is sufficient, implying it's used for day-to-day collaboration rather than client-facing work.
What is the salary range for this Senior DevOps position?
SOFTSWISS has not disclosed a salary range in this posting. Based on market data for senior DevOps/SRE roles at remote-first European tech companies, compensation typically falls between $60,000 and $90,000 annually, though iGaming firms can pay above this range for strong candidates.
What does the sports program compensation benefit include?
The posting mentions a "sports program compensation" but does not specify the amount or eligible activities. It commonly covers gym memberships, sports classes, or fitness equipment — confirm the specifics and whether it can be used for coworking space access during the interview process.
Is there an on-call requirement given the monitoring and incident response responsibilities?
The role includes responding proactively to monitoring alerts and events, which typically implies some form of on-call rotation. The posting does not specify the structure or any additional compensation for on-call duties, so this is an important question to raise with the hiring team.
