Career & Market Insight

Career Development Potential: This Senior Integration Engineer role sits at a compelling intersection of enterprise integration, cloud architecture, and AI-driven SaaS — all high-growth areas. Skills in Workato, AWS (ECS/EKS), event-driven microservices, and REST API design are among the most sought-after in enterprise tech, commanding strong market demand through 2026 and beyond.

Compensation Context: Legion calibrates pay to the applicant's local market. For Mexico, senior integration engineers typically earn $30,000–$60,000 USD annually at international companies — competitive relative to local market rates, though well below US equivalents ($130,000–$170,000). Equity participation partially bridges this gap for early-stage growth companies.

Company Stage & Culture Signals:

  • Green Flag: Fully remote, mission-driven, with an award-winning AI platform — signals a modern engineering culture.
  • Green Flag: Mentorship responsibilities and cross-team collaboration indicate a path to Staff/Principal Engineer.
  • Yellow Flag: On-call rotation and potential work outside normal hours suggest a fast-paced environment with real operational pressure.
  • Yellow Flag: No explicit PTO quantity mentioned — worth clarifying during interviews.

Work-Life Balance: Fixed shift hours (09:00–18:00) plus on-call duties suggest moderate-to-high intensity. The wellness reimbursement and parental leave signal that the company invests in employee wellbeing, but this is not a low-pressure environment.

Best Fit For: Engineers who want to deepen enterprise integration expertise, gain exposure to WFM/HR tech, and grow into an architecture or technical lead role within a scaling SaaS company.

Headquarters: Remote, Mexico

BACKGROUND AND OPPORTUNITY

There are almost 75 million hourly workers in the United States, representing more than half of the entire workforce. Historically, managing hourly employees has been difficult due to high attrition (average of 60%) and high replacement costs (average of $3,200 per employee in retail). The ongoing labor shortage and competition from the gig economy make it more difficult to attract and retain hourly employees. Legion's mission is to turn hourly jobs into good jobs, serving the hourly workers who make up the majority of the US workforce. Our team is comprised of dedicated individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, globally distributed across all time zones.
