Senior Healthcare Fraud SME at GDIT | $153K–$207K in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
Compensation vs. Market: The $153,000–$207,000 salary range is competitive for a senior healthcare fraud SME role. Government contracting SME positions at the 15+ year experience level typically benchmark between $130K–$190K, so the upper end of this range is above market — reflecting the niche expertise required around CMS/Medicaid FWA programs.
Career Development Signals: This is a senior individual contributor role, not a management position, though leadership of technical tasks is expected. Skills built here — Medicaid/Medicare data analytics, predictive modeling collaboration, and federal FWA policy knowledge — are highly specialized and in growing demand as government healthcare fraud detection increasingly leverages AI and big data.
Green Flags:
- GDIT is a large (26,000+ employee), stable government contractor with diverse projects across defense and civilian agencies — strong job security.
- AI-powered internal career pathing tool and internal mobility team suggest genuine investment in employee growth.
- Full-flex work week and full remote status are strong work-life balance indicators.
- 160 hours of paid family leave and comprehensive benefits are well above average for the industry.
Yellow Flags:
- The 15+ year experience bar is very high — this is not an entry or mid-level pathway role.
- No certifications required may signal the role is highly experience-dependent with limited structured upskilling.
- Biometric identity verification during hiring is unusual and worth noting as a privacy consideration.
Overall, this is a strong opportunity for a seasoned Medicaid FWA professional seeking stability, competitive pay, and remote flexibility within a mission-driven government contracting environment.
