Career & Market Insight

This is a senior individual contributor / people leader role targeting seasoned HR professionals with at least 10 years of experience supporting engineering organizations in tech. At the Director level, this position sits close to the C-suite and offers genuine strategic influence — a strong career accelerator for HRBPs aiming to move toward VP of People or Chief People Officer paths.

Compensation benchmark: For a Director-level HRBP in a US tech company, market rates typically range from $180K–$300K TTC. Veeam's Zone 1 ceiling of $456K is notably above-market and reflects the seniority and scope expected. Even Zone 4's range ($178K–$331K) is competitive for most US metros.

Skills you'll develop and sharpen:

  • Executive-level stakeholder management and C-suite advisory skills
  • Workforce analytics and data-driven HR decision-making — increasingly critical in modern HR
  • Change management in a global, fast-scaling tech company (30+ country footprint)
  • DE&I program design and organizational development in an engineering context

Green flags: Veeam is a well-established, profitable market leader (not a pre-revenue startup), which signals role stability. The explicit mention of "Startups and Transformation" in requirements hints at an appetite for someone who can bring agility to a scaling enterprise — a valuable dual skill set.

Watch for: The broad scope (talent, OD, compliance, analytics, DE&I) with no mention of team size under this Director suggests you may be operating lean. Clarify headcount and HR team structure during interviews to assess workload realism.
