B2B Paid Search Manager at Wpromote | Agency Career in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
Career Trajectory: This is an individual contributor (IC) role positioned at the mid-level of a paid search career path — typically 1.5–3 years in. It's an excellent launchpad toward Senior Paid Search Manager or Paid Media Director titles, especially within a high-profile agency like Wpromote, which is recognized by Ad Age, Glassdoor, and Adweek.
Compensation vs. Market: The $74,000–$90,000 range is on par with or slightly below market median for a Paid Search Manager at a mid-to-large US agency (industry benchmarks typically show $80,000–$105,000 for 2–4 years of experience in major markets). Candidates in lower cost-of-living states or those earlier in their career will find this competitive; those in NYC or LA with strong B2B backgrounds may want to negotiate toward the top of the band.
High-Demand Skills This Role Builds:
- B2B performance marketing — a niche with growing demand as SaaS and fintech companies scale paid channels
- Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and SA360 proficiency — platform skills that transfer across agencies and in-house roles
- AI-driven automation and first-party data strategy — cutting-edge skills increasingly required by employers
- CRM integration and offline conversion tracking — differentiating skills for B2B marketers
Green Flags: Wpromote's "remote-first" positioning, unlimited PTO, and award-winning culture are strong retention signals. Cross-functional exposure to Analytics, Creative, and SEO teams accelerates career development beyond pure paid search.
Watch For: Agency roles at this level can involve high client volume and fast-paced demands — assess workload expectations during interviews.
