Career & Market Insight

This is a senior individual contributor role with broad ownership — strategy, execution, budget, and external vendor management all sit with one person. That's typical of a growth-stage or scale-up company commercializing a novel technology, and it's a strong signal of both high autonomy and high expectations.

Compensation: No salary is listed, but Global Marketing Managers with 7+ years of B2B technical marketing experience in the US typically earn $110,000–$160,000 annually, with mining/industrial tech commanding a premium. Clarify during the process whether equity or performance bonuses are included.

Skills you'll build:

  • Technical B2B content marketing for a niche, high-value industrial technology
  • Global go-to-market strategy for an emerging product category
  • AI-augmented marketing workflows — increasingly valued across sectors
  • Cross-functional influence without direct authority (engineering, exec, sales)

Green flags: Clear scope of ownership, explicit use of AI tools encouraged, direct access to executive leadership, and involvement in a genuinely differentiated technology (HPSA) with global market potential.

Yellow flags: Lean team means limited peer mentorship; success depends heavily on self-direction. The 25% travel expectation is real and should be factored into work-life planning. No mention of team growth plans — clarify whether this remains a solo function long-term.

For career-minded marketers, this is a high-visibility opportunity to own a full marketing function and build a compelling portfolio in industrial/mining tech — a niche with strong demand for skilled communicators.

The Opportunity

DISA Tech is seeking an experienced, hands-on Global Marketing Manager to own and execute marketing in support of the commercialization of our High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) technology. This role sits at the intersection of technical marketing and commercial growth, working closely with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, External Affairs, executive leadership, customers, channel partners, and outside resources.

The right candidate can set direction and personally drive execution — translating complex technical information into credible, commercially relevant content and programs without requiring a large marketing infrastructure.

What You'll Own

  • Strategy & commercial alignment: Develop and execute the global marketing plan around DISA's priority customers, commodities, regions, applications, and commercial opportunities.
  • Content & sales enablement: Build technical and commercial content including case studies, customer/project updates, presentations, sales collateral, product/application materials, and thought-leadership content.
  • Digital & brand: Own LinkedIn, website content, digital campaigns, brand consistency, templates, and performance tracking.
  • Events & industry presence: Prioritize and lead trade shows, conferences, sponsorships, presentations, supporting campaigns, photography, and video.
  • Market intelligence: Monitor competitors, customers, audience trends, and industry activity; turn insights into actionable recommendations for the commercial team.
  • Measurement: Establish practical KPIs for audience growth, engagement, campaign performance, lead generation, and contribution to commercial activity.
  • Budget ownership: Develop, manage, and track the global marketing budget, including events, external resources, digital initiatives, content, and other marketing spend.
  • External resources: Manage agencies, contractors, designers, photographers, and other outside resources where they add value.
  • AI-enabled execution: Use AI and modern marketing tools extensively to improve speed, research, and content development while retaining full ownership of accuracy, judgment, quality, and final output.
  • Cross-functional execution: Maintain strong project management, responsiveness, and follow-through; ensure technical and performance claims are reviewed by the appropriate DISA subject-matter experts before external release.

Requirements — What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, engineering, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of B2B marketing experience in mining, mineral processing, industrial equipment, engineered products, technology, or another technical industry.
  • Proven ability to independently own both marketing strategy and day-to-day execution in a lean or fast-moving environment.
  • Strong commercial understanding of technical products and long-cycle B2B sales; mining or mineral-processing experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex technologies and translate them into clear, credible, customer-focused messaging.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, storytelling, and content-development skills.
  • Experience with digital marketing, website management, LinkedIn, analytics, CRM/marketing tools, and campaign planning.
  • Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Highly responsive, organized, self-directed, accountable, and comfortable working directly with engineers, executives, sales teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% for customer sites, conferences, trade shows, and company events.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capability is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • DISA has a clear, commercially aligned global marketing plan and a consistent cadence of high-quality technical and commercial content.
  • Sales and leadership receive stronger marketing support with less day-to-day coordination required from them.
  • Priority markets, customers, projects, and events are supported with focused campaigns and measurable outcomes.
  • Marketing projects are completed on time, with strong follow-through, sound judgment, and minimal supervision.
  • Repeatable processes, tools, and external resources are in place to scale the function as DISA grows.
