Career & Market Insight

Role Level & Market Fit: This is an entry-level (Level I) data support/operations role at a large, established corporate travel company. The SQL requirement and technical troubleshooting component elevate it above pure customer service, making it a solid stepping stone into data engineering, BI support, or travel tech operations.

Skills You'll Build:

  • SQL and relational database querying in a production environment
  • Data quality investigation and root-cause analysis
  • API and data integration workflows (exports/imports, 3rd party data pipelines)
  • Client-facing technical communication — a highly transferable skill
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools (DecisionSource, Data Quality Services)

Compensation Check: The Spain range (€24,547–€28,088) sits below Spanish tech market averages for junior data roles (typically €25,000–€35,000), making it competitive for operations but modest for tech. Poland's range (71,205–113,528 PLN / ~€16,500–€26,300) is below Polish tech market norms but reasonable for a support/ops hybrid role in Kraków or Rzeszów.

Green Flags: BCD is a financially stable, privately held company with $22.9B in 2024 sales and 15,000+ employees — strong job security. The EU Pay Transparency Directive commitment and no salary history request are positive, progressive hiring signals.

Watch For: "Level I" suggests a structured career ladder — ask about Level II criteria and timelines during interviews. The role is support-oriented; if you want to move into pure data engineering or analytics, clarify internal mobility pathways early.
