Career & Market Insight

Career Positioning: This role sits at a compelling intersection of industrial engineering, data analysis, and software development — a rare combination that commands strong market value. Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) engineers with ISO Category II+ certifications are in high demand as Industry 4.0 adoption accelerates globally.

Compensation Context: No salary is listed, which can be a yellow flag. Market rates for senior PdM engineers in the US typically range from $90,000–$130,000 annually, with startup equity on top. The inclusion of stock options at a growth-stage startup could be meaningful upside — or diluted risk, depending on the company's trajectory.

Skills You'll Build:

  • Advanced vibration analysis and FFT modeling — increasingly valued in IIoT roles
  • Expansion into ultrasonic and oil/fluid analysis broadens your PdM toolkit
  • Software modeling and data library development — transferable to data engineering roles
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product and hardware teams

Culture Signals: The "startup mentality" language and "wear many hats" phrasing suggest a lean team with broad scope — great for fast learners who want ownership, but demanding for those seeking defined roles. The remote-first structure and unlimited PTO signal a modern, trust-based culture.

Green Flags: High-impact work, growing PdM market, product influence opportunities. Watch for: No stated salary range; verify equity terms and stage of funding before committing.
