Career & Market Insight

This is a rare opportunity to step into a full CEO role within a portfolio company — with the backing of a well-resourced parent (saas.group) and the operational independence of running your own P&L. It's a genuine general management role, not a fractional or interim one.

Compensation transparency is a green flag: saas.group commits to sharing salary ranges in writing before the first interview, and notes location-adjusted pay targeting local market medians. For senior SaaS executives, global benchmarks for CEO/GM roles at growth-stage companies typically range from $150K–$300K+ depending on region and company ARR — though exact figures here depend on which of the 25 brands you'd lead.

Skills this role builds:

  • Full P&L ownership and SaaS financial modeling
  • PLG (Product-Led Growth) strategy at scale — a highly sought-after skill set
  • Remote-first leadership and distributed team management
  • AI product strategy and fintech-adjacent commercial operations
  • Upmarket go-to-market transition experience (SMB → mid-market/enterprise)

Green flags: The previous CEO grew the brand from small to "highly visible" — showing a real career trajectory is possible. The low-bureaucracy, high-trust culture signals genuine autonomy. The SaaS portfolio network is a strong professional development asset.

One watch point: The role is confidential, meaning you won't know which brand you're evaluating until the interview stage. Candidates should probe early for ARR, team size, and market category to properly assess fit and growth potential before committing time to the process.

This is a confidential search for the next CEO of one of our 25 growing brands at saas.group. We will share exactly which business you'd be leading when we meet during the interview process.

Profile Overview

This is an opportunity to lead one of our growing brands as its next CEO: a high-momentum B2B SaaS business with an enviable position in its category, exceptional brand visibility, and real commercial momentum — now at an inflection point with major new growth bets coming to life. The brand's previous CEO took the reins from the founders when the company was still small and drove a period of significant growth, leaving the business well positioned, highly visible, and ready for its next chapter.

We're looking for a CEO with the energy, conviction, and strategic clarity to set and own that next vision: to build on a strong base and well-established brand, move upmarket, deepen the product, and define what the category leader looks like for the next several years. You'll own the brand's P&L, strategy, growth, culture, and overall performance, working closely with the saas.group leadership team, your board sponsor, and the broader community.

Your Immediate Impact in the First 3–6 Months

  • Running a smooth handover with the outgoing CEO and building direct, trusted relationships with the leadership team and the wider team.
  • Developing and landing a clear point of view on the brand's next strategic chapter, validated with your board sponsor.
  • Lifting product velocity and shipping cadence, turning early momentum into a consistent delivery rhythm and moving adoption of a key new product in the right direction.
  • Bringing a major new growth initiative to market as a credible, durable new growth vector.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and own a bold, multi-year vision for the brand, aligning with saas.group objectives while staying sharply aware of a fast-moving, competitive market.
  • Lead the upmarket motion: evolve positioning, product, and go-to-market strategy to win larger customers while protecting the simplicity and ease of use that has always defined the product.
  • Set the bar on product velocity and shipping cadence, ensuring the team consistently delivers capabilities.
  • Scale the newest growth engines from early traction into durable, material revenue streams.
  • Own commercial performance end to end: drive new revenue across PLG, inbound, and sales-led motions, and treat retention and revenue as first-order priorities.
  • Drive operational excellence: own the P&L, build budgets, track the KPIs that matter, and put in place the processes that let the business scale efficiently.
  • Foster innovation by spotting disruptive trends (including AI, both as a customer segment and as a tool), experimenting with new business models, and making data-driven bets.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing, fully remote leadership team; champion a strong culture aligned with saas.group values; and represent the brand externally with customers, partners, and the wider PLG SaaS community.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proven leadership as a CEO, GM, or senior executive in a B2B PLG SaaS company, with a strong track record of driving growth and building enduring businesses.
  • A demonstrated ability to craft and execute strategy across PLG, sales-led, and partnership motions, with the judgment to make decisive market and product calls.
  • Experience scaling a product through an upmarket transition, balancing enterprise-grade depth with a simple, lovable user experience.
  • A bias toward shipping: you know how to set a high product velocity and hold a team to a healthy, sustainable pace of delivery.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and full P&L responsibility. Comfort with the dynamics of payments, payouts, and fintech-adjacent product lines is a strong plus.
  • Fluency with the SaaS PLG growth toolkit, and ideally familiarity with the fast-moving AI customer segment.
  • A talent magnet and strong people leader: skilled at hiring, developing, and retaining top performers remotely, setting goals, holding teams accountable, addressing performance decisively, and communicating a compelling vision to internal and external audiences.
  • AI literacy and application: you actively use AI tools to sharpen your productivity and quality of work, stay curious about emerging capabilities, and find pragmatic ways to apply AI day to day. Excellent communication, with fluency in English.

What's in It for You

  • Ultimate flexibility: We're 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We're a high-trust team, and you'll have lots of flexibility to solve problems your own way, with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don't like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady and sustainable.
  • Small and friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We're a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals who regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning, and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

We don't simply offer you to "take a job with us" but rather to "join us on this journey" to build the world's largest platform of independent SaaS companies.

Sounds like something you're up for? Feel free to apply even if you don't check all these boxes. We believe in the power of diversity and fresh perspectives to spice up our team. Your application might just be the missing ingredient!
