Career & Market Insight

This is a senior individual contributor / strategic operator role positioned at the intersection of executive strategy and operational execution — a high-visibility path often held by former MBB consultants or Chief of Staff alumni. At HackerOne, you'd be working on company-defining problems alongside C-suite leaders, which is a rare career accelerator.

Compensation context: The $195K–$255K range is competitive for a Director-level BizOps role in enterprise SaaS. Market benchmarks for similar roles (e.g., Stripe, Salesforce, Palo Alto Networks) typically sit in the $180K–$240K band, so HackerOne's top tier is at or slightly above market. Equity adds further upside if the company pursues an IPO.

Skills you'll develop:

  • AI workflow design and implementation — a rapidly appreciating skill set in 2024–2025
  • Enterprise operating model design and governance frameworks
  • Executive influence and cross-functional stakeholder management
  • Data-driven decision architecture at scale

Green flags: Gartner recognition, high-profile client roster (DoD, Goldman Sachs, Anthropic), and a "Most Loved Workplace" designation suggest cultural health. The explicit call for AI-first thinking signals the company is investing in modernization, not just maintenance.

Watch for: The role requires 12+ years of experience with no direct reports mentioned — clarify whether this is truly an IC Director role or whether people management is expected. Also confirm which compensation tier applies to your target city, as the range varies by ~$17K–$30K between tiers.
