Career & Market Insight

This is a well-structured entry point into medical device sales, one of the most lucrative and competitive career tracks in healthcare. Distalmotion's explicit pathway from Associate Clinical Sales Specialist to Clinical Sales Specialist is a green flag for career-minded candidates.

Compensation context: No salary is listed, but entry-level medical device clinical specialists in the U.S. typically earn $55,000–$75,000 base, often with performance bonuses and car allowances. Surgical robotics roles at growing companies can skew higher due to specialization demand.

Skills you will build:

  • Surgical robotics clinical expertise — a highly differentiated, in-demand skill set as robotic surgery adoption accelerates globally.
  • Territory management and procedure-based sales accountability.
  • Relationship-building with surgeons, OR nurses, and hospital administrators — critical for long-term med device careers.
  • Technical proficiency in complex capital equipment installation and training.

Green flags: Distalmotion is a growth-stage global MedTech with a commercially launched product in both the U.S. and Europe. Early employees at companies like this often benefit from significant upside as the company scales.

Considerations: The role demands extensive travel and irregular hours tied to surgical schedules — work-life balance can be challenging. Benefits are basic (medical, dental, vision, 401k) with no mention of PTO policy, bonuses, or equity, which is worth clarifying before accepting an offer.
