Account Executive - Ad Tech Sales Career at StackAdapt in Columbus
Career & Market Insight
This Account Executive role at StackAdapt sits at the intersection of ad tech sales and strategic account growth — a highly marketable skill combination in a sector that continues to expand rapidly. Programmatic advertising is a $557B+ global industry, and AEs with DSP/SSP platform experience command strong market value.
Compensation context: The $92,000–$126,500 base is competitive for a mid-market AE in the US Southeast, where cost of living is below the national average. Add commission (standard for quota-carrying roles, often 1:1 OTE ratio in ad tech), and total compensation could realistically reach $150,000–$220,000+ at target, putting this well above regional market rates.
Skills you'll develop:
- Programmatic advertising platform expertise (highly transferable to other DSPs/SSPs)
- Enterprise and agency sales cycle management
- CRM pipeline discipline and forecasting
- Cross-functional collaboration with product and account management teams
Green flags: StackAdapt is an award-winning, high-growth ad tech platform (#1 DSP on G2), signaling a strong product to sell. Health benefits from day one, structured onboarding, and internal certifications show investment in employee development. The company culture appears inclusive and values-driven.
Watch for: Regionalized sales territories can limit career mobility. If the Southeast market underperforms or you relocate, role continuity may be at risk. Quota pressure is inherent — ensure you understand OTE targets before accepting.
