About the Role:
CrowdStrike is looking to hire an experienced Engineer for the Data Services team to elevate our database systems. We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on engineer who enjoys working with data-plane services such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Redis, Valkey, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and is comfortable building automation for large-scale cloud-based critical systems. What You'll Do:

• Maintain a deep understanding of data components—including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, and SQS—and use that knowledge to operate and automate properly configured clusters.

• Understand operating databases in Kubernetes and managing container images.

• Develop infrastructure services to support the CrowdStrike engineering team's pursuit of a full DevOps model.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues regardless of when they occur.

• Ensure that petabytes of critical business data remain safe, secure, and available.

What You'll Need:

• Experience with configuration management (Chef)

• Proficiency in scripting using Python and Bash

• Experience with large-scale datastores using technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, and SQS

• Experience with business-critical Linux environments

• Experience operating in cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI

• Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams

• A track record of making sound decisions, especially under pressure

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A blend of confidence and independence with the wisdom to seek help when necessary

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, CIS, or Engineering
