RETO Film Case, Yellow Lid, Silver Body / 35 mm film
$22.99
The body is made of aluminum and the cap is made of steel, KODAK film cans were widely used in the 1970s for film packaging, only later changed to grey-top plastic containers. The canisters were painted colorful and carried a lot of joyful memories. It was indeed a big part of film photography history. We are inspired by the selection of materials and colors and wish to recreate a new version of the KODAK Film Case, only to make it even more practical and stylish.
Our Review
Kodak RETO Film Case (Yellow Lid) — a tidy way to stock film for client shoots
The gist: A compact steel case that keeps a film-photography side business organized without a dedicated storage cabinet.
- Holds up to 5 rolls of 35mm film: a plastic insert separates rolls so you can grab the right ISO or stock without searching.
- Compact size: about 148 x 56 x 47mm and roughly 160g — small enough for a desk drawer or gear bag pocket.
- Snug-fitting steel lid: protects unexposed and shot rolls alike between a shoot and a lab drop-off.
- One-time durable buy: reviewers note the solid metal build should “last a lifetime,” useful as a kit grows.
Per the manufacturer’s own product listing, the case gives “full protection to your film rolls,” with reviewers confirming the lid “stays shut tight” under regular handling.
Best for: freelancers or remote workers running an analog photography side hustle who need their film stock organized. Skip it if: you only shoot a roll or two a month — a simple pouch is enough at that volume. Runs ~$23 — check the current price before buying.
