Standard Plate
The Peak Design Standard Plate is the camera tripod plate that comes with Capture, Travel Tripod, and Clutch camera strap. If you plan to use their clips, tripods, or straps with multiple cameras, we recommend getting a Standard Plate for each camera body. Works with most ARCA-type tripods, fits in Capture in 4 directions and contains 4 loops for connecting Peak Design Anchors. Newly upgraded with a durable machined/anodized construction and a 50% lower profile design. A new connection screw slot allows more positioning options, preventing interference with lenses, screens, and battery compartments.

Peak Design Standard Plate — The Upgrade That Makes Your Camera Desk-Ready Instantly
The gist: A $20 machined aluminum plate that turns any camera body into a plug-and-play component of the Peak Design ecosystem — clip to a desk arm, lock into a tripod, or attach a strap without unscrewing anything between transitions.
- Zero-tool camera transitions: Once mounted, snap the camera in and out of Capture clips, Travel Tripod, or Clutch strap in a single motion — faster than a traditional screw-mount plate when moving between desk recording and mobile shooting.
- Four anchor loops: Attach any Peak Design wrist or neck strap alongside your Capture clip simultaneously — practical for creators who carry a camera and record at a desk in the same session.
- Low-profile machined aluminum: The 50% thinner PL-S-3 design avoids obstructing battery doors or screen articulation, keeping full access to camera controls during a desk recording setup.
- Broad tripod compatibility: Works with most Arca-Swiss heads on any brand of tripod — useful when renting a tripod for a client shoot without needing to pack your own.
Peak Design’s official product page confirms the adjustable connection screw slot repositions the plate to clear battery compartments and articulating screens — critical on mirrorless bodies used for vlogging or remote meeting webcam duty.
Best for: Content creators and remote workers who already own Peak Design Capture or Travel Tripod and want a dedicated plate on a second body or lens. Skip it if: You use a non-Arca ball head — verify your tripod head type before purchasing. Runs ~$20 — check the current price before buying.
