Our Review
Moment BaseCage — a lightweight rig for building a creator side income
The gist: A compact, modular phone cage that lets you produce more professional video for a portfolio, personal brand or freelance work without buying a full camera kit.
- Professional footing: Cast aluminum construction and an open-rail design give a steadier, sturdier setup than a bare phone in hand.
- Add what the job needs: NATO rails, 39 × ¼"-20 threads, 4 × ⅛"-16 threads and 4 cold shoe mounts for a mic, light or monitor.
- Desk or tripod: The Arca-compatible base fits standard tripod heads, handy for talking-head video, webinars or product demos.
- Fast to switch: Choose a clamp or a magnetic MagSafe phone mount, with about 95mm of lateral adjustment, to move between devices.
According to Moment’s own product page, it works with iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel phones and offers cable-routing slots, so you can run a mic or drive without tangles.
Best for: Freelancers and career builders producing video content on a phone. Skip it if: you mostly record screen-share calls, where a basic stand does the job. Runs ~$99 — check the current price before buying.
